I am a freshman novelist looking for publishers and agents for YA, sci-fi/Utopian fiction. A summary of the plot:
Jonah lives in a progressive utopia called the Ordo Seclorum, a future World government marked by tolerance, diversity, and communal fraternity. The technological marvels of this society includes the Node, a computer grafted into the human brain that facilitates enhanced interpersonal communication, encourages tolerance, and ensures safety from terrorism. Jonah feels like an outsider in this utopia, as his estranged father had joined the religious terrorist group called Apologia.
Jonah's one chance to overcome the stigma of his father's name is to excel at the Gauntlet, the World's most popular sport, and thereby gain admittance into the elite security corps called Scholae Palantinae. But a mysterious new teacher enters Jonah's life in his last year of school; his strange beliefs and actions threatening to disrupt all of Jonah's plans.
